🎙️ A Must-Listen for Anyone Who Wants to Strengthen Their Creativity Muscle

I had the pleasure of joining Talkin’ St. Pete to dive deep into creativity, innovation, and the powerful ways we can all level up our thinking. We talked about breaking the myth of creative genius, how to train creativity like a muscle, and why St. Pete has been a hub for groundbreaking ideas—like the first commercial flight and the birth of Wikipedia.
“Creativity is central to what it means to be human. If we didn’t have it, we would still be writing on cave walls and using rocks to break things.” (~23:10)
If you’re an entrepreneur, leader, or creative thinker looking to expand your ability to innovate, this conversation is for you. We explore how to harness creative environments, develop better problem-solving skills, and even use AI as a tool to enhance—not replace—human ingenuity.
“One concept within innovation and entrepreneurship is serendipity.” (~45:30) The best ideas often emerge when we create space for unexpected connections.

So, how do you train your creativity like a muscle? Start with deliberate practice—small, daily exercises that challenge you to think differently. Set a timer for five minutes and list 30 new ideas for a problem you’re facing. Try flipping your assumptions: What if the opposite of what you believe is true? What if you took an approach inspired by an entirely different industry? When we shift our thinking, we unlock creative solutions that wouldn’t have otherwise surfaced.
The biggest barrier to creativity isn’t a lack of talent—it’s a lack of space. If your days are packed with endless tasks and decisions, you’re not leaving room for curiosity, reflection, and experimentation. This is why so many breakthrough ideas happen in the shower, on a walk, or while traveling—our brains need unstructured time to make unexpected connections. If you’re feeling creatively stuck, clear the clutter and give yourself room to think.
I’d love for you to tune in and take away something that sparks your own creative journey. Listen to the full episode on YouTube and let me know what resonates with you!
