From Pilgrimage to Platform: A TEDx Reflection
Jun 02, 2025
I walked the Camino to remember something I had forgotten: That the heaviest burdens aren’t in our backpacks… They’re in our minds.
And this weekend, at TEDx ESEI International Business School Barcelona, I walked another kind of path, one made not of dirt and stone, but of stories, movement, meaning, and connection. Each speaker was like a fellow pilgrim, each talk a marker on the trail reminding us how to move, think, and succeed in this wild, beautiful life.
A deep and heartfelt thank you to Carlota Estera, Juan Victor Menendez Nuñez, and the ESEI team, and especially for helping me sharpen and shape my talk. You didn’t just support me, you carried me.
I’m deeply proud to stand alongside these incredible speakers, each of them walking their own path, filled with challenges, breakthroughs, and the quiet strength of heroes within. Grateful to share this journey with you all.
🎤 Yohay Elam connected marathon training to business leadership with humor and humility, showing us that persistence and strategy in both arenas are not separate, they are the same breath.
🎤 Carla Ryan reminded us that movement isn’t just for athletes, it’s for anyone who wants to show up fully in life. Her presence, her joy, and yes, her baby-on-board energy made it all the more powerful.
🎤 Karina Indytska danced through her words and showed us that language, confidence, and emotional connection can be awakened through rhythm and movement. She didn’t just speak, she moved us.
🎤 Nadina Tyropolis brought clarity with every punch, literally and metaphorically. She reminded us that when our values guide us, decision-making becomes less about fear and more about flow.
🎤 Stephanie Smarius made one slide feel like a world. She grounded us with the truth that it’s the small, steady movements, the almost invisible efforts, that eventually shape the biggest transformations.
And as I stood on that red dot, sharing my Camino, I realized: we are all walking. Different shoes. Different stories. Same search.
We are pilgrims of experience. Of healing. Of becoming.
Whether it’s on the Camino or on a TEDx stage, we are shedding what no longer serves us, and stepping into the person we were always meant to be.
Because the journey isn’t out there.
It’s in here.
So if you’re reading this and still carrying too much.
If your mind is full,
your spirit tired,
your path unclear.
I invite you to pause. To breathe. To listen.
Let go of what weighs you down. Laugh loud. Walk light.
And remember:
The greatest journeys don’t change the world around you…
They change the world within you.
Buen Camino.
